Covington accepts $1.5 million from BP settlement

(AP Photo/Dave Martin) The Covington City Council Tuesday night (July 14) agreed to accept a settlement of about $1.5 million from BP for economic losses resulting from the 2010 Deepwater Horizon disaster. The council met behind closed doors for about 10 minutes during its regularly scheduled meeting before emerging and voting unanimously to accept the settlement.
