Lafourche debates whether to hold off spending BP money

Before the money is even in hand, the Lafourche Parish Council has started debating how to manage the $8.2 million the parish was awarded in the BP oil spill settlement.

Last week the council unanimously approved accepting a settlement of $8.18 million from BP for the parish’s economic losses stemming from the 2010 Deepwater Horizon disaster.
