The kids are alright – Minnesota ranks number one for child well-being

IStock art The state moved from fifth last year to the No. 1 spot thanks to a top-six finish in each of the four categories rated by the Annie E. Casey Foundation: economic well-being, education, health and family and community.

The strong showing in the report continues a trend of ranking near top of the list in recent years, although Stephanie Hogenson, research and policy director at Children’s Defense Fund-Minnesota, said the state has not ranked first since 2007.
